1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using FreeInFive ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

FreeInFive is operated by Bloomeasy AI ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Bloomeasy AI.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use FreeInFive. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

3. Description of Service

FreeInFive is a digital wellbeing application designed to help users manage their social media usage through mindful interventions. The App:

  • Monitors usage time for apps you explicitly select (currently: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook)
  • Provides gentle reminders ("nudges") when you reach configurable time limits
  • Displays intervention screens requiring intentional action before continuing
  • Tracks intervention statistics to help you understand your usage patterns
  • Operates primarily on your device with minimal cloud services

What the App Does NOT Do:

  • Read, access, or collect content from other apps
  • Track your location
  • Access your contacts, messages, photos, or files
  • Monitor apps you haven't explicitly selected
  • Share your usage data with third parties for advertising or analytics

4. Account and Authentication

4.1 Account Creation

You must create an account to use FreeInFive using one of the following methods:

  • Google Sign-In (sign in with your Google account)
  • Apple Sign-In (sign in with your Apple ID)
  • Email and Password (create an account with your email address)

We collect:

  • Your email address
  • Authentication provider ID (Google, Apple, or Firebase)
  • Firebase User ID (generated by our authentication system)

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

4.3 Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the App's Settings screen. Account deletion will:

  • Remove your authentication data
  • Clear all locally stored usage data
  • Permanently delete your account from our systems

5. Required Permissions

To function properly, FreeInFive requires the following Android permissions:

5.1 Usage Access Permission

Allows the App to read which apps you use and for how long. This data is stored locally on your device and is used only for the apps you explicitly select to monitor.

5.2 Accessibility Service Permission

Enables the App to detect when you open a monitored app so it can apply your configured time limits and interventions. The Accessibility Service:

  • Only monitors apps you have selected
  • Does NOT read screen content, keystrokes, or passwords
  • Does NOT perform actions on your behalf
  • Does NOT send monitored data to external servers

5.3 Display Over Other Apps Permission

Allows intervention screens to appear when you reach time limits on monitored apps.

5.4 Notification Permission

Enables the App to display:

  • Gentle reminder notifications at your configured time limits
  • A persistent notification indicating the monitoring service is active

5.5 Foreground Service Permission

Keeps the monitoring service active in the background to ensure time limits are enforced even when the App is not in the foreground.

5.6 Battery Optimization Exemption

The App may request exemption from battery optimization to prevent Android from stopping the monitoring service. This ensures consistent functionality.

5.7 Boot Receiver Permission

Allows the App to restart the monitoring service after your device reboots, so your time limits remain active.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings, but doing so will prevent the App from functioning properly.

6. Data Collection and Privacy

6.1 Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored only on your device using local storage (Hive database):

  • List of apps you selected to monitor
  • Time limits you configured (soft nudge and hard block times)
  • Daily usage statistics for monitored apps
  • Intervention statistics (number of times shown, opened, closed)
  • Onboarding completion status

This data is NOT uploaded to our servers.

6.2 Data Sent to Our Servers

We collect minimal data through Firebase services:

  • Authentication Data: Email address, authentication provider ID (via Firebase Authentication)
  • Crash Reports: Anonymous crash logs and error diagnostics (via Firebase Crashlytics)
  • Device Identifiers: Firebase Instance ID, Google Advertising ID (collected by Firebase SDK but not actively used for tracking)

6.3 Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, Email/Password)
  • Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting)
  • Firebase App Check (security validation)

These services have their own privacy policies:

6.4 No Data Selling

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose.

6.5 Data Retention

  • Local data: Stored indefinitely on your device until you delete the App or clear your account
  • Server data: Authentication records retained while your account is active; deleted upon account deletion
  • Crash reports: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes

7. User Conduct and Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features or the App's monitoring functionality
  • Use automated systems (bots, scripts) to access the App
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse the service
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the App if you are under 18 years of age

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Ownership

FreeInFive, including all content, features, functionality, source code, designs, and trademarks, is owned by Bloomeasy AI and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

8.3 Restrictions

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our express written permission.

9. App Availability and Modifications

9.1 No Guarantee of Availability

We do not guarantee that FreeInFive will be available at all times or that it will function without interruptions, delays, or errors. We may suspend or discontinue the App at any time without notice.

9.2 Updates and Changes

We may update, modify, or change the App's features, functionality, or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

9.3 Beta/Early Access

FreeInFive is currently in early access. Features may change, be added, or removed as we refine the App based on user feedback.

10. Subscription and Payments (Future)

10.1 Current Pricing

FreeInFive is currently free to use. All features are available at no cost during the early access period.

10.2 Future Subscriptions

We reserve the right to introduce paid subscription plans in the future. If we do:

  • Existing users will be notified at least 30 days in advance
  • Core features available at launch will remain free
  • Premium features will be clearly distinguished from free features
  • You will never be charged without your explicit consent

10.3 No Refunds for Free Service

Since the App is currently free, no refunds are applicable.

11. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

11.1 "AS IS" Service

FreeInFive is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy or reliability

11.2 No Medical or Therapeutic Claims

FreeInFive is a productivity and digital wellbeing tool. It is NOT:

  • A medical device
  • A treatment for addiction, mental health conditions, or behavioral disorders
  • A substitute for professional medical or psychological advice

If you have concerns about compulsive behavior or mental health, please consult a licensed healthcare professional.

11.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bloomeasy AI shall NOT be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or use
  • Service interruptions or errors
  • Damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim (currently $0).

11.4 Monitoring Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, FreeInFive relies on Android system APIs for usage tracking. We do not guarantee:

  • 100% accurate time tracking
  • Real-time intervention triggers
  • Prevention of all usage beyond your limits

You remain responsible for managing your own device usage.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bloomeasy AI, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your misuse of the App
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any content you submit through the App (if applicable in future updates)

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time through the Settings screen.

13.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to FreeInFive at any time, with or without notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
  • Extended inactivity
  • Discontinuation of the service

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the App immediately ceases
  • We may delete your account and associated data
  • Sections 8, 11, 12, 14, and 16 of these Terms survive termination

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14.2 Jurisdiction

You agree that any legal action arising from these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in India, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

15. Miscellaneous

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bloomeasy AI regarding FreeInFive.

15.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

15.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

15.5 No Agency

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Bloomeasy AI.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:

  • We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document
  • Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification
